Why am I being asked to Register? Isn’t the Festival free and open for all?

This summer the Festival is in a smaller, intimate setting and for the best experience for everyone, we're managing crowd sizes. Why? Because construction is in progress on the permanent stage at our regular spot!

When you register your upcoming attendance (still free!), you'll help our staff and volunteers to be well-prepared for the number of guests. We've also provided a comment box on the checkout page where we hope you'll share what's important to you about Free Shakespeare in the Park, because we value your opinion.

We don’t assign seats, so come early and pick your favorite viewing spot. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Hot tip: the area closest to the stage is reserved for blankets only, while a little farther back, you can bring your low-seat beach chair.

Knowledge is power, and Dr. Faustus wants it all. The mysterious scholar sets his sights on mastering the dark arts and strikes a deal with the beguiling Mephistopheles to make the magic happen. In this playful, seductive fever dream, Faustus conjures legends, dines with emperors, and throws down with the Seven Deadly Sins. Packed with spectacle and supernatural flair, Marlowe’s classic becomes a satirical and soul-stirring thrill ride where unchecked ego meets ultimate consequence. This summer, Doctor Faustus brings the heat. After all, when you play with fire… there’s hell to pay. Free in Griffith Park.
