City Council Considers Double Funding for Griffith Observatory - Action Item

Griffith Observatory has been a beacon of learning for the City of Los Angeles and an iconic facility within the Department of Recreation and Parks (RAP) for more than 90 years.

Tomorrow, Friday, June 12, a proposal is being considered by the Rules Committee of City Council to double funding for Recreation and Parks.

The historic funding would restore decades of cutbacks to staff, programs, and maintenance at Griffith Observatory and throughout the L.A. parks system. It would be a reallocation of funds over four years, not a new public tax or tax increase.
