If Machine Learning is a Type of AI Then is AI Accelerated Patterning?

"Machine Learning" according to AI.gov is "widely used algorithms & other tools that allow computers to learn from data...much faster & more accurately than a human being can."

We might herald AI as a cliche or dispute it as a dramatic step into nefarious or dramatically accelerated technology; it is still built upon the tedious repetitious work of past centuries. The dedicated scholars, students, mathematicians, statisticians, actuaries, and inventors laid the foundation, the patterns, for what machines are today more rapidly producing conclusions. No different than any machine output replacing or improving the limitations of labor intense methods.

While "Machine Learning" is a type of AI, deploying "the most widely used algorithms and other tools that allow computers to learn from data in order to make predictions and categorize objects much faster and more accurately than a human being can."
