was one of the filming locations featured in The Bourne Identity
was named after Jean-Baptiste Kléber
- Kléber was a trained architect and prior to his military service designed a number of buildings in France including
Napoleon left Egypt in August 1799 with Kléber in command of the expeditionary forces
Kléber signed a “convention” with the British which would require the French troops to leave Egypt but the British did not honor the agreement. A shortened version of history has Kléber recapturing Cairo on April 21
Sadly as he began to govern Egypt he was assassinated by a student living inEgypt on June 14th
An infamous portrait of Napoleon on horseback was re commissioned and two additional panels were added, one featuring the General Kleber.
