This will be the last Super Blue Moon until 2037. This Blue Moon is commonly referred to as a "supermoon" due to its distance from Earth at the time of full moon.
You should be able to look to the east right after sunset to see the full moon.
The Basics:
- Will be both "Blue Moon" and "supermoon"
- The moons proximity to Earth is the closest it gets, making it larger than brighter than normal
- Moon will rise: Aug. 30, at 9:35 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, according to the U.S. Naval Observatory -
