Volunteer card makers from around the world send us handmade cards. Then, CreativeKindness distributes those cards to organizations which support people in need.

Two local organizations are recipients of Creative Kindness cards:

Operation Gratitude (Chatsworth) & My Stuff Bags Foundation (Westlake Village)

Timeline & story of Creative Kindness

  • 1999, avid scrapbooker and paper crafting artist Jill Davis founded Scrapbook.com - a website dedicated to sharing and teaching the timeless art of memory keeping.
  • 2019, they took the first steps toward making Creative Kindness a reality, through their fledgling program Cards for Kindness®.
  • 2020, they expanded Cards for Kindness, from a local initiative to a global one, now accepting handmade cards from around the world
  • 2021, with gratitude and eagerness to continue spreading joy, we developed Creative Kindness. Creative Kindness encompasses a variety of charitable initiatives, programs, and projects all centered around our mission: “To help people find happiness and healing through the creation and donation of handmade gifts.”

About Operation Gratitude: "Provides opportunities for the American people to express their gratitude and show our Military and first responders that what they do matters. Since 2003, with the help of our nationwide network of Volunteers, we have sent a total of 3.5 million Care Packages containing carefully chosen items meant to boost the morale and resilience of our service members and give them warm reminders of home. Today we send up to 200,000 Care Packages per year, and we are committed to growing that number to over 1 million per year by 2027."

About My Stuff Bags Foundation:  The My Stuff Bags Foundation provides new belongings, comfort and hope to thousands of children each year who must be rescued from abandonment, abuse, domestic violence, homelessness and neglect across the United States. The My Stuff Bags Foundation’s ultimate goal is to provide a MyStuffBag filled with new belongings to over 400,000 children each year who escape to emergency shelters or enter foster care with nothing of their own.  Previous article by SFVnewsPortal:  Local Donation Sites for Blankets & Quilts |
