Join Griffith Observatory Foundation for a special presentation exploring the 350-year history of the Royal Observatory.  From Greenwich to Griffith  Friday, October 24, 2025 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

In celebration of Griffith Observatory’s 90th Anniversary, join the Foundation and distinguished guests from Royal Observatory in London as they commemorate 350 years of astronomical discovery.

The evening will feature a lecture in the Leonard Nimoy Event Horizon theater by Paddy Rodgers, Director (Chief Executive) of Royal Museums Greenwich, which includes the Royal Observatory. The presentation will be curated especially for this occasion and will be accompanied by brief introductory remarks from Dr. E.C. Krupp, Director of Griffith Observatory.

Following the program, you are welcome to explore exhibits, observe the night sky through the Observatory’s historic Zeiss telescope, and enjoy the views of Los Angeles.

*While advance registration is not required, it is encouraged. Advance registration is free and includes priority seating and easier access to the public parking lot. Parking fees ($10/hour) still apply.

Paddy Rodgers

Paddy Rodgers was appointed Director (Chief Executive) of Royal Museums Greenwich (RMG) in August 2019. RMG comprises of the National Maritime Museum (including the Caird Library), the Royal Observatory Greenwich, the Queen’s House, the historic clipper ship Cutty Sark, the Brass Foundry in Woolwich and the Prince Philip Maritime Collection Centre. Full bio here
