Randolph Mantooth is survived by his wife, Kristen Mantooth and siblings, Donald and Tonya. He had been diagnosed with cancer in 2015 and spent his final days in hospice in Ventura County.
He was born Sept. 19, 1945, to Sadie and Buck Mantooth. His father was Seminole Native American according to his IMBD profile .

He co-Starred with Kevin Tighe in Emergency which aired from 1972-1977, but ran for decades as a rerun and making the pair highly recognized for generations. The show was produced by Jack Webb and detailed the workday of a pair of Los Angeles County based paramedics (Engine 51), at a time when the fire department had just begun to utilize a team specializing in medical emergencies. According to the Hollywood Reporter: "When the show premiered, there were 12 paramedic units in all of North America. In the next three years, 46 states enacted laws that allowed paramedics to practice emergency medicine."
The long-term impact of the show was recognized by the County of Los Angeles when both actors were both made honorary paramedics in 2012, thirty-five years after the show had stopped production.
