Name the Snow Plow Contest

Move Over - Snowplow Naming Contest from Caltrans & the California Office of Traffic Safety. Entry deadline 11:59pm PDT Thursday 2/15/24. Eleven district prizes and one Grand Prize.

You have a chance to make history. Caltrans wants YOU to NAME its snowplows! Help us out by submitting your fun, appropriate and creative name idea below. The chosen name will go on our mighty snowplows as they clear the way for safer winter roads and win up to $150 in gift cards, plus an additional gift card for the winning classroom if the selected winner is a student in grades k-12!

Contest begins on January 16, 2024, at 12:00:00 a.m. PDT and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. PDT on February 15, 2024 (“Contest Period")

One winner will be selected from Caltrans districts 1-11. Each district winner will receive a $50 gift card. The 11 selected snowplow names will automatically be entered for the grand prize. Any submissions that include profanity or other inappropriate language will not be considered. Submissions are limited to no more than 20 characters including letters and spaces. Prizes provided courtesy of iHeartMedia. Contest brought to you by Caltrans and the California Office of Traffic Safety.

PRIZES:

  • District Winners: 11 winners, each receiving a $50 gift card
  • Grand Prize: One selected from the 11 winners will receive a grand prize!
    • Adults 18 and up: $100 gift card
    • Students K-12: $100 gift card + $100 gift card towards the winning classroom

All entries submitted become the property of Caltrans and the Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) and will not be returned. By participating, you are granting the Caltrans and OTS perpetual, royalty free license (but without obligation) to use your submission online, on social media and any other media without limitation. Winners will be announced by March 4, 2024.
